Boxing Day !!!

For us at Flinnt our earliest memories of the term Boxing Day are that of Cricket Test Matches especially the ones that are played in Australia. Australia usually have a test match starting on Boxing Day i.e. 26th of December. Today the 4th Test in the Ashes Series between Australia and England has already begun and the India-South Africa test is scheduled to begin in the afternoon.

Somebody really did some out of the Box thinking to name this a Boxing day. Boxing Day is traditionally the day following Christmas Day, when servants and tradesman would receive gifts from their bosses or employers, known as a "Christmas box". Now it is more of a shopping Festival and there are huge discounts offered in many countries.

Flinnts about various cultures and the days dedicated to gifting in those cultures can make learning interesting and should keep learners engaged.
